Photoshop’s tools are organized into the Layers panel, which you access by clicking on the Layers icon (figure 2.1). Grayscale
When you load a new image into Photoshop you have an option to choose between using the color channels or using the grayscale. The grayscale (figure 2.2, image 1) gives you a choice between black and white for all of your layers. Although it’s a good idea to use this option for your first layer, I suggest you make the change for subsequent layers as well.

Bootstrap Modal not visible in IE8 and 9
I have recently ported a site from one server to another and have noticed that my modal plugins are not working in IE9.
The modal works fine in Firefox and Chrome.
On the dev server we run IE8 to test things on older browsers. The modal did work on the dev server in IE8.
I have tried the solution posted here, but no difference: Bootstrap modal problem in IE8

The City of San Francisco’s regulatory body just blessed Uber’s self-driving, hybrid trucks for delivery in city streets
The regulatory team at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) voted to declare that Uber’s autonomous truck trials will be allowed on city streets without any driver supervision, but they added restrictions and certain requirements. The SFMTA board voted 4 to 1 this morning to approve the regulations, with transportation commissioner Ed Reiskin casting the lone dissenting vote.
The SFMTA proposal doesn’t entirely wipe out the need for a human driver behind the wheel. The autonomous vehicles will need a « safety driver » onboard at all times to make sure the vehicle is operating safely. The safety driver will be responsible for overseeing the autonomous vehicles’ operation during testing in the city, but will be relieved once tests start in safety-critical situations.
The autonomous trucks will also still have to follow designated routes and adhere to traffic laws that apply to motorized vehicles.
The concept of autonomous vehicles is not a new one to the world of tech. Google’s popular self-driving car has racked up more than 3 million miles and is one of the most successful implementations of the technology yet. The company also recently announced plans for its own fleet of autonomous trucks. For Uber, though, the rules are a bit different. Instead of trying to track down as many miles as they can in the real world, Uber wants to perfect its self-driving tech in a controlled environment.
While the SFMTA’s announcement had no specific limitations on autonomous vehicles for Uber’s cargo business, the company has been in talks with the City about that very topic for over a year. It’s possible that the SFMTA approved of Uber’s proposal for its autonomous truck fleet in order to get more specifics from the company. Earlier this week, Uber confirmed that it would be in talks with the City about autonomous trucks, but nothing has been announced since. A spokesman for the company did tell Bloomberg, though, that the biggest obstacle to autonomous trucks is regulatory and not technology.
The ride-hailing company has faced scrutiny over not only its app but how it treats its contractors working on its food service (excluding tipping). There’s also been discussion about the safety of its driverless taxis, which have been in place for a year in Pittsburgh. There have also been a series of high-profile crashes between
